my haiku for the painted bunting

on the post oak branch
stroke of purple, red and green
a painted bunting

a bunting couple has been at the feeder the past couple of days!!!
i love watching them.

prairie hill in mid summer
so i don't know what was crazier, that we were on back porch eating dinner in 100 degrees,
or that we saw four deer on the hill... they went into the cedar trees and never came back out...

  1. I love everything about this post. You are indeed a gorgeous painter and a clever Bard! Wow. Buntings, deer and bravery! ( 100 degrees at din din time). Yikes! I haven't been able to visit you lately due to computer probs but I'm back on the scene with my new iPad. I've missed you!

    1. Oh, glad you got a new iPad! :) Happy weekend Lynn!

  2. No birdfeeding around here in summer, unless one wants to feed 10 bears, too!

Lovely bird... and magical about the deer....
