St. Peter's Basilica in Rome

St.Peter's Basilica

The Pope's Balcony

View of St. Peter's square from the cupola.  We spiraled hundred of stairs to the top.
The city view was amazing.

The Apostle Peter is supposedly buried here under the altar...
Only God knows.
Here's the most thrilling part for me...
in this side Chapel, behind bullet-proof material is
Michelangelo's 'Pieta.'
Just look at how beautiful and organic that marble appears!
Michelangelo was a mere 23 years old when he started on this masterpiece!

Vatican Guards
 Exquisite beyond description!

  1. That city view is incredible! Worth the hike up spiral stairs. It's so ancient and all the architecture is really something to admire.
Spring weather is unbelievable here, San! What's happening on your prairie hill?
