Montana and Idaho

Good Morning, Montana!
We had to say goodbye to Yellowstone and head further northwest - destination Seattle.

I mostly saw Montana from the car window.  Big open country and bigger skies.
Thought I might see some cowboys on horses -
but only saw young men herding up cows on ATVs. ha!
Technology has taken over the old ways.

Next, we drove through the panhandle of Idaho and stopped in  Coer d'Alene.  The area is surrounded by dozens of lakes left behind by the glaciers of the ice age. We took a break on Lake Coeur d'Alene.
It was around 100 degrees, so unless you were in the water, you were sweating.
Coer d'Alene Lake

I wanted to see more of Idaho but we had to stick to the highway -
We passed through forest land - mountain upon mountain covered in a dense blanket of pines.

  1. that last on the water and flowers in your hand.

[how funny....rounding up cattle with ATVs....! i remember living in montana, an actual cattle-drive passing through my yard....i ran out to help "herd up" the strays, cowboys on horses doing their best to keep the cattle going in the right direction....]

    1. I just now noticed the heart diamond! You're lucky to have lived in Montana!

  2. I still see Cowboys & cattle drives 'round here....but the choice for most now is ATV. :(
I've been to Cour d'Alene Lake...there's a floating restaurant, did you see it? :)

    1. Nice to see real cowboys! Missed the floating restaurant! How cool!
